Bangladesh America Maitree Project
Funded by: USAID
Implemented by: BRAC
Sub-grantee: Anandalok Trust for Education and Development
Project Overview
Anandalok Trust for Education and Development is implementing the Bangladesh America Maitree Project as a sub-grantee of BRAC to promote quality and equitable pre-primary and primary education for marginalized children. The project is being implemented in Pirgacha and Kaunia Upazilas of Rangpur District with a strong focus on community participation and parental engagement.
Key interventions include addressing COVID-19 learning gaps, organizing school-based health camps in partnership with Unilever Bangladesh, and strengthening community involvement through Education Development Committees (EDCs) and regular meetings with parents and local authorities. The project also promotes gender integration, prevents school dropouts through home visits, supports mental well-being through stress management and peace education, and builds sustainable partnerships with local businesses.
